Year 7 have decided to use their blogs to record their book reviews. The comments below are trackbacks to their blogs - each name is linked. Follow the links to read the full review.
Bear in mind that all this was done in less than an hour - the students worked really hard to produce their reviews in a WP document, then learned about trackbacks AND transferred the work to the blog; the work is NOT their best English as they haven’t had chance to proof read it or amend the style at all. You are seeing it in the raw! It’s a first draft and NOT the best that they can produce by any means.

So Sam has made it down the stairs. What has been making the noise? How will you continue to create the dramatic tension? How will you draw the story to a close? Write your final paragraph on your own blog and trackback it to this post.
When that is done, read leave a comment on your final chapter saying how you made sure the final chapter sounded so good.

The posts of the second and third paragraphs of the Into the Dark stories are excellent and they have been commented on with indications of how the sories might be improved.
First job today is to read all the comments on your story and to then make a post on your own blog saying what you intend to do to improve your story in the last paragraph. You can trackback to this post from your own blog so that your post appears as a comment here.

Read all the information in this post before you begin the creative writing.
Sam hesitated at the top of the stairs, blinking sleepily in the darkness. The blackness below was absolute, there was no light at all. The light switch was out of reach, way back across the landing. There was the noise again. The rest of the house was silent. What was it?
This is the opening of a story, and your task will be to write the next paragraph, in which Sam goes down to the bottom of the stairs - no further!

What I LOVE about chocolate is that it’s sweet, smooth and creamy.
What I HATE about chocolate is that it can become sickly.
What I LOVE about summer is that you can have barbques, parties, play outside and go on holidays.
What I HATE about summer is that it get’s so hot it’s to warm to go anywhere.
What I LOVE about winter is that it can snow and it’s Christmas.
